Special bank booths set up at 19 procurement centres

Punjab Food Department has set up 'special bank booths' at 19 big procurement centers across the province to facilitate the growers in getting payment of their grains during the coming wheat procurement drive. Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Punjab on food, Mansha Ullah Butt, said here on Saturday that these booths would help making instant payment up to 50 bags of wheat to the growers.
Nevertheless, payment of over 50 bags of wheat provided at the procurement centers would be made through designated branches of the Banks and growers would get payment of their grain next day of depositing the bill. However, growers can also deposit the bill of their wheat, given to them by the food department, in the banks where they already have their accounts and receive their payments through that account, Butt concluded.
