Central Leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Javed Hashmi urged Pakistan Muslim League-N chief, Mian Nawaz Sharif to support demarcation of small provinces and decentralisation of powers. He was addressing a news conference here at Press Club on Saturday.
"If Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz want to save country, then, they will have to support formation of new provinces and decentralisation of powers," he said. He said that his party fully supports demands for restoration of Bahawalpur province and formation of Hazara, Seraiki, Potohar and Fata provinces. He recalled that presently India has 29 provinces while it is going to form 11 more provinces this year.
Hashmi said that world forces have been keeping eye on Balochistan. He feared that internal chaos could provide chance to external forces to interfere into Balochistan in order to meet their nefarious desings. He said that military action was not solution to Balochistan issue.
Hashmi pointed out that a struggle has been continuing for rights in Balochistan for last 60 years. He demanded to end injustices with people of Balochistan. The PTI leader said it was Mian Nawaz Sharif who forced other political parties to boycott general elections.
He said that he committed a mistake by join cabinet of General, Zia-ul-Haque government. He said that when he was detained in jail, Nawaz Sharif and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto made phone calls to him assuring him that they would run an ideological politics. He said that former dictator, General, Pervez Musharraf had threatened him (Javed Hashmi) and Nawab Akbar Bugti of dire consequences.
