Roasters in Indonesia's main island of Java are aggressively buying coffee from the new crop despite high premiums, while the differentials for Vietnamese beans could widen next week due to rising London futures, dealers said on Thursday. Vietnam and Indonesia, the world's top producers of robusta, account for nearly a fifth of the world's total output in the current 2011/2012 crop.
According to the International Coffee Organisation. A few cargoes of grade 4, 80 defect beans from Indonesia's main growing island of Sumatra were sold to local roasters at premiums of more than $100 to London's July contract.
