Chief Justice, Lahore High Court, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed on Saturday stressed if government opts for a judicial inquiry into recent tragic incident of airplane crash, on the public pressure, then its findings should also be implemented in letter and spirit.
Otherwise, there was no need of forming such commissions if their recommendations are not to be followed, he stated while expressing grief and sorrow over the Bhoja Air plane crash near Islamabad that killed all the 127 people on board on Friday. Addressing at the concluding ceremony of capacity building in service training course for Additional District Sessions Judges, the chief justice said that heavy investment was being done on the holding of these refresher courses in terms of time and money and stressed upon the course participants to make full use of this exercise and deliver in the present circumstances and available infrastructure.
CJ made it clear that we cannot dream of rule of law in the country without following the principles and law of the land. In fact, we have abandoned the culture of going by the book, which resulted in no rule of law. Chief Justice advised the participant judges not to go for merely number game by disposing more cases rather they should decide cases according to law.
