Indian police have arrested Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front-R (JKLF-R), Farooq Ahmad Dar from the residence of his relatives at Bemina in held Srinagar. According to Kashmir Media Service, the JKLF-R spokesman told media in held Srinagar that the police took Farooq Dar into custody during nocturnal raids and shifted him to some unknown destination.
He said prior to Farooq Dar's arrest, the police raided the house of JKLF-R district president for held Srinagar, Muhammad Rafiq Dar. He said party Chairman was arrested for raising his voice against the ongoing human rights violations by Indian police and troops in the occupied territory. Terming the arrest as undemocratic and condemnable action, the spokesman said occupation authorities were using such tactics to prevent the political leaders from carry on the liberation movement in occupied Kashmir.
