The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has helped identify bodies of 67 out of total 127 passengers and crew of the Bhoja Airline plane crash through its biometric identification system. "Using our Automated Finger Identification System (AFIS) and Facial Recognition System (FRS), the authority's dedicated tech-team identified 67 passengers as unfortunately hands and faces of some of the victims of air-crash tragedy were unrecognisable due to the wounds and cuts," said Tariq Malik, Deputy Chairman of Nadra, in a statement on Sunday.
Expressing sympathy with the families of tragic plane crash victims, Malik said the Nadra would go an extra mile to help identify the victims. "Our technical staff has been working round the clock right after the unfortunate crash and we will use all of our resources, technology and national database to identify the victims," he added He said all of Nadra employees were aggrieved over the incident and prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the departed souls eternal peace and give courage to the bereaved families to bear the loss.
