Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Sunday said that Pakistan People's Party and the PPP-led government fully honoured every decision of the Supreme Court.
Speaking at a press conference here at the CM's House, he said that there were certain problems confronting his government to hold local government elections forthwith including non-finalisation of voter lists and de-limitation of the local government constituencies.
He said that his government would present its opinion/position before the apex court in this regard. Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khursheed Shah, MNA Faryal Talpur, Sindh Information Minister Shazia Marri and other PPP leaders were also present on the occasion.
Qaim said that his government was committed to maintaining peace in the city. PPP, MQM and ANP had reached an understanding on carrying out across-the-board operation by law enforcing agencies in the city for ensuring safety of the life and property of the people, he added.
The Chief Minister further said that he had issued directives to the LEAs to continue indiscriminate operation in any area of the city when they get authentic information about the criminals.
"We are not targeting any particular area or community," he said when his attention was drawn to operation in Lyari. PPP's MNA from Nawabshah Faryal Talpur, responding to a question, assured that the next budget would be people-friendly and would bring relief to the masses.
She said that the government was following the mission of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto to focus on social and economic uplift of the masses.
Khursheed Shah spoke about the efforts and achievements of the government on political, social and economic fronts.
To a question, Shah said that it was Lashkari Raisani who, being the President of PPP Balochistan, had recommended that his brother Aslam Raisani should be made Chief Minister of the province.
