Rice prices rose and grams drifted lower on the wholesale grain market on Monday in process of modest trading, dealers said. On the rice sector, demand pushed up rice prices up and it looks that prices may rise further due to active purchasing by exporters, they said and added that Irri-9 Sindh appreciated by Rs 400 to Rs 5400-5500.
On the grams side, grams Australia No 1 extended its last week's fall, losing Rs 100 to Rs 6900-7200, grams dal Australia No 1 lost the same amount at Rs 8100-8400, grams 50x50 shed same amount to Rs 7600-7900, yellow peas Canada was down by Rs 50 to s 4300-4500, yellow peas dal Canada fell by the same amount to Rs 4800-5000, yellow peas Ukraine shed the equal amount to Rs 4150-4350 and yellow peas dal Ukraine also down by Rs 50 to Rs 4650-4850, they said. On the seeds counter cottonseeds oilcake with bag was lower by Rs 50 to Rs 450-700, other items maintained weekend levels, they said.
