As many as 10 companies have applied with the Punjab Food Department for pre-qualification for the construction of wheat silos in the province. According to the spokesperson of the Punjab Food Department, a Bid Evaluation Committee chaired by the Secretary Food, Punjab with representatives of the P&D Department, Finance Department, C&W Department and PPP Cell of P&D Board met today to open prequalification applications for the construction of wheat silos in the Punjab.
This is a first of its kind project in Pakistan and has been launched on the initiative of the Punjab government. This project was aimed at revolutionising the wheat storage system in the province, the spokesperson added. He stated that 10 firms applied for prequalification including Pak Turk Agro Consortium (Elba Engineering Services), Matco Rice Processing, Meskey & Femtee, Mahmood Mehboob & Brothers, Engineering Kinetics (EK), ANC Intl, Agro Pvt Ltd, Sadiq Feed, Fauji Akbar and MN Construction Company. The spokesperson said the Bid Evaluation Committee would finalise the names of pre-qualified firms by May 12.
