The prices of essential kitchen items showed mixed trend, as prices of some items registered a nominal decline, while others a little increase during the week under review as compared to the previous week, reveals a survey carried out by Business Recorder here on Saturday.
Traders and wholesalers in different markets of Rawalpindi/Islamabad said that prices of some of the kitchen items including some vegetables, chicken and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) witnessed a nominal decline. Similarly ghee, cooking oil, pulses and fruits prices remained on high side. However prices of some kitchen items remained unchanged during the last week as compared to the preceding week. Tomato was available at Rs 40 per kg against Rs 60, tinda at Rs 35 per kg against Rs 50, kareela at Rs 80 per kg against Rs 100 per kg, ladyfinger at Rs 100 per kg against Rs 120 and chilli at 100 per kg against Rs 120 per kg last week.
