The Federal Board of Revenue has taken away the powers of the officers of Inland Revenue Service (BS-17/18) to work as Unit In-charges of core functions (Enforcement & Audit) in the field formations with immediate effect. In this connection, the FBR has issued a notification here on Monday to withdraw notification regarding posting of officers of Inland Revenue Service (BS-17/18) as Unit In-charges (Enforcement & Audit) core functions, with immediate effect.
As per notification, Board's notification No 0870-IR-III/2012 dated 13.04.2012 regarding posting of officers of Inland Revenue Service (BS-17/18) as Unit In-charges of core functions (Enforcement & Audit) is held in abeyance, till June 30, 2012.
The FBR's notification which has been withdrawn is related to the postings of the IRS officers as Unit Incharges of core functions (Enforcement & Audit). The earlier notification (0870-IR-III/2012) said that the Competent Authority has approved that all Unit Incharges of core functions (Enforcement & Audit) will be of BS-17/18 officers of IRS (ACIR/DCIR). However, Superintendents, Senior Auditors (Inland Revenue Audit Officers) and Inland Revenue Officers may be posted as Unit Incharge of non-core functions like IP, HR, etc, it added.
