Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Monday said that Supreme Court (SC) has not disqualified Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and he will remain Prime Minister till the decision on his appeal by the SC. "The contempt of court case is still under proceeding, but Sharif brothers in their own interest are passing insulting statements against him. Nawaz Sharif was a politician, he should not become a judge," Malik said while talking to reporters at Ministry of Interior.
Malik said national resources were being used for protest demonstration against the government in Punjab. "Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is using government resources to incite rebellion against the federal government in Punjab," he said. He said that he would present all the proofs of money laundering by Sharif brothers. He said that the Punjab government had wasted billion of rupees in the 'Sasti Roti' scheme and claimed that he had received thousands of emails from students who said that there had been discrimination in the distribution of laptops in the province. Malik alleged that computer worth Rs 18,000 was purchased at Rs 34,000.
Malik said that visa policy for foreign nationals had been changed under which they will have to go to their countries of origin for visa renewal and extension. Earlier, while presiding over a meeting, he issued strict directives to make an effective plan for closing Sheesha Bars located in the federal capital as well as in the other parts of the city. He directed that all restaurants be closed at 11 pm as well all restaurants located in the residential areas of the federal capital must be removed within four weeks. He also issued directives to take action against those who smoke at pubic places.
