Crime Investigation Department (CID) of police on Monday claimed to have arrested an alleged target killer during a raid in Gulshan Iqbal area. According to CID officials, the action was taken on a tip-off that revealed that the accused, Ali Darwesh alias Baba was hiding in the said area. Reacting to the said information, the team headed by SSP Fayyaz Khan conducted a raid in Gulshan Iqbal near University Road and nabbed the accused.
They said the arrested accused was said to be close aide of Ahmed Ali Magsi, a man nominated in the murders of two workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Mansoor Mukhtiar and his brother Masood Mukhtiar. They said the police had also recovered a hand grenade and a Kalashnikov from his possession, adding that the accused person during initial course of investigation confessed of being involved in several heinous crimes including targeted killings, police encounters and others.
