The US Congress army services committee approved a bill that stops acceptance of any goods and services from Pakistan until the Nato supply lines are reopened by Pakistan. While our parliaments, unanimously approved two resolutions against drone attacks violating sovereignty have been not only ignored but violated also.
That being so, the present move is the worst blackmail of a so-called ally who failed to even apologise for killing 26 allied Pakistani troops and now tries to squeeze our country having failed to sort out the matter in a civilised manner. But we should take this for what it is: the real face of the US and a good opportunity to get out from their deadly embrace. A good answer to this new bill which will be presented next week for debate in the Congress would be to cancel all visas of US citizens in Pakistan and give them 48 hours to leave the country. Apart from this, our foreign policy-makers should finally redirect country's foreign policy towards our neighbour and towards countries of the region like China, Russia and Iran.
All this happens while Pakistan's convicted Prime Minister is sitting in London with a bunch of hanger-oners, and the Pakistan government is spending daily four hundred thousand pounds as room rent for their hotel only. This journey which has the only aim to defy the conviction of the prime minister by the Supreme Court and show the world and Pakistan that he doesn't care about what the Supreme Court of his country rules or people think. He is depriving Pakistan of money which would be badly needed to solve the energy crisis that is rocking the country and driving people out into the streets in protest. Quite clearly, it is the politicians, who are creating the crisis and that has to be changed! Nobody cares for the multiple miseries the teeming million are facing due to this ongoing political wrangling.
