Grams prices tended higher on the wholesales grain market on Tuesday as buyers were busy in storing the commodity to meet the demand during approaching Ramazan, dealers said.
On the grams side, grams Australian No 1 low type was up by Rs 200 to Rs 8100 and the best type was higher by Rs 300 to Rs 8500, grams dal Australia No 1 rose by Rs 400 to Rs 9700-10100, grams 50x50 picked up by Rs 100 to Rs 8700-9100, yellow peas Canada gained Rs 200 to Rs 4500-4700, yellow peas dal Canada rose by Rs 150 to Rs 5000-5200, yellow peas Ukraine gained Rs 100 to Rs 4200-4400, yellow peas dal Ukraine picked up Rs 150 to Rs 4800-5000, yellow peas Russia low type was up by Rs 150 at Rs 4350 and the best quality was sharply higher by Rs 450 to Rs 4850 and yellow peas dal Russia rose by Rs 200 to Rs 4900-5100, they said.
On the cereal side, urad Burma low quality was up by Rs 200 to Rs 2400 while the best quality fell by Rs 150 to Rs 2450, other items maintained the overnight levels in process of trading, they said. On the rice sector, Irri-6 Sindh low type, appreciated by Rs 25 to Rs 3425, while the good type was inert at Rs 3500, they said. Only one change was witnessed on the seed side, where cottonseed oilcake with bag Sindh low quality shed Rs 50 to Rs 500 while the best type gained Rs 75 to Rs 825, they added.
