The 7th International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) will be held from November 7 to 11 at Expo Centre here. An ISPR press release issued here on Wednesday said that IDEAS has established itself as an attractive and grand rendezvous to promote mutual understanding, trust, friendship and co-operation between the friendly nations.
Having achieved a well deserved acceptability and prominence in the International defence markets, we are hopeful that this year too we will set a new example by arranging a world class Exhibition, Inshallah, said Major General Tahir Ashraf Khan, Director General, Defence Export Promotion Organisation (DEPO), Ministry of Defence Production, while chairing the First Steering Committee Meeting for IDEAS-2012, held on Wednesday at Expo Centre Karachi.
The meeting was attended by representatives from concerned ministries, three services, government departments and DEPO officials. During the meeting, departments responsible for the conduct of various activities during IDEAS-2012 were familiarised with the requirements related to layout and organisation at Expo Centre, traffic management, communication infrastructure and allied facilities round Expo Centre, etc. DEPO also highlighted the details of assistance and facilitation required from different departments.
All the representatives of concerned departments assured their full and whole hearted support for making the event a success, in the national interest. Karachi City Administration reassured that outlook of the city will be further uplifted during the event so that foreign delegates and exhibitors carry good impression of the city while visiting Karachi. It was reiterated that electronic and print media will be continuously informed and kept updated on the traffic plans to cause minimum inconvenience to the citizens of Karachi during the event.
