Lahore High Court Chief Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed on Wednesday refused to hear two identical petitions against Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani for holding the office of Prime Minister despite his conviction in a contempt of court case. Pakistan Tehrik-e-Inqilab chairman Rana Ilamudin Ghazi and bar member Shahid Naseem Gondal had filed these petitions through their counsel A.K Dogar.
Dogar argued before the court that after the conviction, not only the Prime Minister but his entire cabinet stood disqualified and there was no need of any further process for disqualification.
