Despite the fact that the Sindh government is going to present the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2012-13, in the first week of June, it has spent only 54 percent allocations of the current fiscal year's ADP, Business Recorder has learnt on Saturday. This was disclosed during a meeting held at Chief Minister House on Saturday.
Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah presided over the meeting. It was attended among others by Minister for Finance Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Secretary Raja Muhammad Abbas, Additional Chief Secretary (P&D) Israr Malik, Secretary Finance Naveed Kamran Baloch, Secretary Planning and Development and others.
Officials of P&D department informed the meting that out of Rs 111 billion ADP 2011-12, an amount of Rs 92 billion was released and so far 54 percent of the allocations had been spent while the expenditure is expected to be incurred in June 2012. The meeting discussed various proposals with regard to Annual Development Programme of 2012-13, and the budget proposals for next financial year.
The progress and up to date expenditure on current ADP- 2011-12, were also reviewed. The Chief Minister said that present government has emphasised the need to provide relief to poor people while it is the endeavour of Sindh government to initiate and complete maximum development schemes in the province. Sources inside the CM house said that the subsequent meeting will be held Sunday, May 27 as well as at CM House in which ADP 2012,13 would be finalised and date for the Cabinet meeting and Sindh Assembly session would also be finalised.
