Chairman of Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts and Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM), Syed Nabeel Hashmi has said that the PAAPAM is interested in having technical collaborations with international companies for manufacturing high-tech auto parts in Pakistan.
On his return from "Automechanika Middle East 2012" held in Dubai, he said that the PAAPAM was looking forward to developing contacts with international manufacturers, besides analysing the possibility of joint ventures with them. "We are seriously looking for JVs and TAs for development of engine and high-tech consumable parts for aftermarket and OEM consumption's, besides targeting Middle East market, including Africa," observed PAAPAM chairman.
He said that a 27-member delegation was organised to visit to Automechanika to study the world automotive industry and to introduce its members to the international markets and build up their businesses keeping in view the global economies and scales. A total of 27 delegates, out of which 10 were exhibitors, participated in the show under the banner of Pakistan Automotive Parts and Accessories Manufacturers Association, fetching big orders running into millions of dollars as the follow-up of the event.Briefing about his visit, he said that Pakistan High Commissioner Mansoor Bajwa also visited the Pakistani pavilion and he was given a presentation about Pakistan auto vending industry.
The ambassador appreciated the value addition being done by PAAPAM members to the Pakistan economy and noted his full support to the engineering base of Pakistan. PAAPAM Vice Chairman Munir K Bana said that Automechanika Gulf was the event for the rapidly developing automotive aftermarket in Middle East. The event covered a full range of parts of motor vehicles as well as components for the drive, chassis, body, electric & electronic groups, equipment for vehicle service & repair, bodywork repair & painting, tyres, batteries and performance systems, he said.
