The Sarhad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) and Sui-Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) have agreed to joint workout for resolution of low pressure gas issue, leakage and replacement of dilapidated supply pipelines. Both authorities with support of Cantonment Board Peshawar would devise a joint strategy to fully materialise the project.
The matters were discussed during a meeting held under SCCI President Afan Aziz in chair. On the occasion, the General Manager SNGPL, Peshawar Mohammad Haroon Khan, Cantonment Board Chief Engr Israr Khan, SCCI Vice president, Ziaul Haq Sarhadi, the chamber former president, Sharafat Ali Mubarak, and executive members were attended the meeting.
Afan Aziz said that SNGPL should not increase gas tariff to industrialists, commercial and domestic consumers. He informed that the low gas pressure, pathetic supply line, increase in gas tariff, additional imposition of security surcharge on industrial and commercial connections, are the major issues facing the consumers. He asked the authority to take proactive step for amicable their resolution.
On the occasion, GM SNGPL, Haroon Khan said that they are taking steps for addessal of both commercial and domestic consumers' problems, assured that would continue efforts to fully facilitate them. He said that the authority will take all possible steps for resolution of all those issues facing the industrial, commercial and domestic consumers.
The meeting had decided that that the chief Engineers of Cantonment Board Peshawar, and SNGPL and General Secretary of Markazi Tanzeem-e-Tajraan, Waris Khan Afridi would formulate a joint strategy to resolve the consumers at priority basis. Sharafat Ali Mubarak, Ziaul Haq Sarhadi, Waris Khan Afridi, and Zahidullah Shinwari along with other members of business community also addressed on the occasion.
