After almost a year and a half, a new version of the freeware office programme OpenOffice is available for download. OpenOffice 3.4 is supposed to start faster and offer users more options for encrypting data, promise the developers at the Apache Software Foundation.
Exported PDF documents can be protected with a password. Improvements were also made for the export of documents in RTF format and the import of CSV files.
The most recent version of LibreOffice is Number 3.4.6. Both suites offer similar features and are free to download.
