Concerned DCOs and Members Punjab Assembly have been asked to submit budgetary proposal for restoration of such water schemes so that the amount may be allocated in the upcoming annual budget.

While talking to media Minister Planning and Development Ch Abdul Ghafoor said "We can't provide drinking water through direct pumping system uninterruptedly due to unscheduled and worst spell of load shedding imposed by the Federal Government and people have to face a lot due to non-availability of water along with power outage so we have decided to go for overhead reservoirs, already constructed for the same purpose."
Minister Planning and Development further said necessary directions to the concerned TMAs and officials of Public Health Engineering Department have been passed on for prompt action. Taking notice of the closure of 1,343 water supply schemes worth million of rupees, throughout the province, Ch Abdul Ghafoor decided to restore the same on priority basis.
