Supreme Court verdict in contempt case: ruling in accordance with law, says Fehmida
Speaker of the National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza has said that her decision regarding the disqualification of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani was based on the law and Constitution of the country. She was addressing an inauguration ceremony in Badin on Sunday. The Speaker said the government was utilising all its resources to normalise the situation in Balochistan.
She appealed the media to play its role in removing the people's sense of deprivation. Regarding the law and order situation in Karachi, Dr Fehmida Mirza said the government had set up a ministerial committee comprising four federal ministers to take all the stakeholders on board for a lasting solution to the problem.
She said the government of Pakistan Peoples Party was developing the areas which were left underdeveloped by the successive governments in the past.
Earlier, the speaker inaugurated the construction of Badin-Karachi by-pass in Golarchi area.
