The tribal elders from Bara Khyber Agency have demanded government to immediately lift curfew from Qambar Khel, area of the agency. Addressing at a press conference at Peshawar Press Club on Monday, Shah Faisal Afridi, a tribal elder and Jamaat-i-Islami, Ameer from Bara Khyber Agency along with dozens of elders, said that the unauthorised curfew was imposed for the last three years in Bara Agency, whereas the ongoing military operations, had made huge scale destruction.
He said that the education and business activities have completed shutdown, while people are facing enormous difficulties in absence of health facilities, shortage of daily usage commodities and other basic needs. Afridi said that a large number of people had left the areas to take shelter in temporary Internally Displaced people camps.
But, he said that the famine like situation was prevailed in the different parts of the agency to acute shortage of essential items of daily usage. Accompanied by Dr Mohammad Hussain Afridi, Dr Mohammad Khan Afridi, and other elders said that the poor tribal people were unable to leave their hometown, faced enormous difficulties in current condition.
