Addressing the 6th Convocation of the Hazara University at Dhodial in Mansehra as the chief guest on Monday, the Governor said, "being Muslims, it is our firm belief that the Allah Almighty is the greatest educationist; greatest engineer; greatest doctor of every field of life and all the related subjects; disciplines and creations are open for research studies for us.
"We need to march ahead without with open mind in every field, whether it is energy sector or any other challenge of national, provincial and local nature and without any sort of differences and prejudices", he added. In all 600 graduates; six got PhD degrees; 30 were honoured with M.Phil and the rests bagged master and bachelor of honour degrees in more than two dozen disciplines of science and arts whereas 75 amongst them were honoured with gold medals for achieving distinctive positions in their respective disciplines.
Naveed Khan was declared the best graduate of the University for the Academic Year, 2010 while Mohammad Nawaz achieved this honour from amongst the students of private educational institutions affiliated to the university. Barrister Masood Kausar who is also the Chancellor of the University further stated that the 21st Century has dawned with challenges of greater nature as compared to the past for the nation and we are firmly confident that both the faculty and the institutions like the Hazara University will enable us to achieve a respectable status amongst the comity of nations.
The Governor, who had earlier formally launched a model of solar hybrid car; a creation of the Physics Department of the University was highly impressed of the spirit and capabilities of the respective team of students and faculty members and announced a special prize of Rs 50,000 for them.
