Dr Khan Muhammad Panhwar was a real social reformer, who struggled for the development of the rural areas and promotion of education for poor people. This was stated by scholars, educationists and writers on the occasion of 13th death anniversary of Dr Khan Muhammad Panhwar, founder of department of Mass Communication in University of Sindh.
A well-known writer and journalist at Dr N.A Baloch Hall organised by Dr Khan Muhammad Panhwar Trust in collaboration with Culture Department, Sindhi Language Authority and Institute of Sindhology on Sunday evening. A large number of writers, social workers and educationists attended the event which was presided over by a noted scholar Dr Kazi Khadim Hussain, former Dean Faculty of Arts University of Sindh while Nasir Mirza Station Director Radio Pakistan Hyderabad was the chief guest. The speakers highlighted literary and social contribution of Dr Panhwar. While paying rich tribute to him his stressed the need of following the foot prints of Dr Panhwar for the betterment of villages by the NGOs. Dr Kazi Khadim Hussain said that Dr Panhwar always played a key role in promotion of culture, literature and prominent personalities of Sindh who rendered their valuable services in various fields.
Dr Kazi highlighted works and a brief account of services of Dr Panhwar towards University education and services for the poor people of Sindh and said that Dr Panhwar served the people without any discrimination. Nasir Mirza a student of Dr Panhwar in first batch of Mass Communication, paying rich tribute, said that he had not seen Allama I.I.Kazi but he is sure that Dr Panhwar was like Allama I.I.Kazi who was a committed teacher who always loved his students.
Taj joyo said that in his short life Dr Panhwar without wasting any moment continuously struggled for the betterment of society. Hidayat Baloch said that Dr Panhwar was his close friend and they jointly worked for promotion of Sindhi language and literature. Sikander Memon Chairman of Dr Khan Muhammad Panhwar Trust pointed out that Dr Panhwar also played an active role in politics and added that Dr Panhwar struggled with PPP workers against Ayub Khan Government.
