England all-rounder Samit Patel has joined Islamabad United for Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) third edition starting from February 22.

Patel, who represented England in six Tests, 36 One Day Internationals and 18 T20Is, will replace Sri Lanka’s Asela Gunaratne.

Gunaratne is being called from training camp by the Sri Lankan cricket board, which will take place between February and March.

On the other hand, David Willey, who had to pull out of the league due to a pre-season county tour, will be replaced by Steven Finn.

Former PSL title holders Islamabad will kick off their campaign against defending champions Peshawar Zalmi on February 24.
