Small traders on Sunday organised a rally in scorching and staged a sit-in at Chowk Hussain Agahi against persistent and lengthy and persistent power outages. Protestor, some of whom were wielding batons, said excessive power cuts had made life of people living on Masoom Shah Road miserable, adding that they had to suffer power cuts lasting at least 12 hours every day.
One of the protesters said that their area, with a population of at least 300,000, remained without electricity for most part of the day, creating water shortage. He said that students wo were appearing in various examinations were also facing hardships.
