Agriculture Department team along with police officials following a raid on a factory allegedly preparing fake 'humic acid' have arrested three accused and took into custody over 2000 bags of fake 'humic acid.'
According to details Assistant Control Fertiliser of the Agriculture Department (Extension), Rao Muhammad Anwer got a tipoff and along with field staff and police party raided at a factory situated in Haji Kot on Kala Khatai Road and arrested three accused Muhammad Ameen, Muhammad Iqbal and Muhammad Ali on the charge of illegally preparing humic acid in the name of different fertiliser companies. They were filling the bags printed with the names of different fertiliser companies.
The raiding party took into custody of empty bags, sealing machine, weigh bridge and other machinery worth Rs 2.2 million and registered a case under Punjab Fertiliser Control Order 1972. However, owners of the factory Ayub Shah and Nasir Khan managed their escape from the scene. A spokesman of the Agriculture Department said that the factory preparing fake humic acid had been sealed on the directives of the Assistant Commissioner of the Environment Department.
