The Karachi Port handled 96,716 tonnes of cargo comprising 50,159 tonnes of import cargo and 46,557 tonnes of export cargo including 7,203 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 50,159 tonnes comprised of 38,574 tonnes of containerised cargo; 192 tonnes of general cargo and 11,393 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 46,557 tonnes comprised of 43,698 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,851 tonnes of general cargo and 1,008 tonnes of cement. A total number of 7,203 containers comprising 2,786 containers import and 4,417 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The brake up of imported containers shows 1,060 of 20's and 841 of 40's of loaded while nil of 20's and 22 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,054 of 20's and 795 of 40's loaded containers while and 249 of 20's 762 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
Five ships namely Leo Perdana, Sydney, UASC Shuwaikh, ISE and BBC Steinwall with three container ships, one steel ship and one general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Three vessels viz Hanjin Monaco, BBC Steinwall and Sunrise Wisteria with one container ship, one general cargo ship and one oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely APL Brisbane, Hanjin Monaco and Glovis Clipper with two container ships chemicals carrier and one vehicles carrier respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday, while another ships namely Sunrise Wisteria with one oil tanker is expected to sail on Wednesday.
Three vessels viz Jolly, Clipper Karen and Sunrise Wisteria with one container ship, one chemicals carrier and one vehicles carrier respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while four vessels viz Lara Rickmers, Ever Result, Rio Bravo and CSC Amethyst with three container ships and one mogas ship respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 97,549 tonnes, comprising 87,580 tonnes of import cargo and 9,969 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,982 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 87,580 tonnes includes 43,695 tonnes of furnace oil; 14,150 tonnes of palm oil and 29,735 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 9,969 tonnes includes 2,046 tonnes of cement and 7,923 tonnes of containerised cargo. An oil tanker namely MT Al-Buhaira sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning.
A total number of five vessels viz CV Maersk Kingston, MV Leopard-B, MV BBC Quebec, MT Bow Fraternity, and MT Al-Buhaira are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, general cargo, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
As many as three ships Mare Atlanticum, Akaki and MT Quetta with containers and furnace oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. A total number of two vessels viz MT Quetta and MT Strilen with furnace oil and palm oil respectively are expected to take berths at FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
A container ship namely CV Deira due to arrive on Tuesday, while two more ships namely CV CMA CGM Wagner and MT BW Orineco with containers and diesel oil respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday. As many as six ships namely CV Safmarine Ngami, CV MSC Jade, CV Maersk Montana, CV MSC Jenny, CV Ville D Aquarius and MT Al-Soor-II with containers and diesel oil respectively are also due to arrive at Port Qasim.
