The University of Agriculture Faisalabad has revised 1,500 courses over the past four years to make them compatible with the international market. UAF's Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan stated this while addressing a workshop on 'Curriculum Development' arranged by the Institute of Rural Home Economics and National Institute of Food Science and Technology (Nifsat).
The Vice-Chancellor said that the UAF was also offering 100 new elective courses in various disciplines, adding that the university was offering as many as 45 first degree, 40 masters and 35 PhD programmes, ranging from social sciences to basic sciences. Nisfat's Director-General Professor Dr Faqir Anjum said that recommendations given by scholars in the workshop to improve curriculum would be presented before the Academic Council for final approval.
Dr Shaheen Pervez, and Dr Tahira Rana from the Government College of Home Economic,s Lahore, Memoona Khan from the Government Post-Gradate Women's College, Rawalpindi, and Acting Director of the Institute of Rural Home Economics Dr Ayesha Saddiq also spoke on the occasion.
