Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary on Friday stressed upon the newly enrolled advocates of the Supreme Court to serve the cause of judiciary and nation by protecting the constitution and ensuring rule of law in the country. The Chief Justice was addressing participants of 22nd Roll signing ceremony of newly enrolled Advocates of Supreme Court.
He said, "You people are the future of the Supreme Court as well as of this nation and the country. Now, your appearance would not be appearance as ordinary person." He said that their way of thinking would be how to interpret the constitution, how to protect it and how to ensure administration of justice in accordance with law and constitution.
As a lawyer of the Supreme Court, you have to provide strength to the Court and to protect the constitution without fear and favour, he added. The Chief Justice expressing his optimism said that they would play their role with commitment, dedication and to the best of their abilities in safeguarding the rights and entitlements of the litigant public. A total of 26 new advocates (22 from Punjab, 03 from KPK and 01 from Balochistan) were enrolled as Advocates of Supreme Court.
These included Sajid Bashir, Khawaja Awais Mushtaq, Muhammad Ilyas Khan, Chaudhry Muhammad Amin, Malik Imran Nazir Awan, Chaudhry Muhammad Tahir, Muhammad Almas, Qazi Muhammad Arshad Bhatti, Masood A. Malik, Tahir Mahmood Khokhar. Asif Bashir Mirza, Asghar Ali, Jalees Ahmed Meer, Mian Muhammad Hanif Tahir, Ghulam Nabi, Malik Muhammad Suleman, Mahmood Alam Khan, Muhammad Tariq Afridi, Asghar Ali Khan, Muhammad Ahsan Rasool Chatha, Amanullah Khan, Muhammad Afzal Jami, Pervaiz Iqbal, Muhammad Faisal Malik, Idris Ahmad Shaikh and Ijaz Ahmad.
