International Labour Organisation (ILO), Pakistan has chalked out activities in different cities to observe World Day against Child Labour-2012, falling on June 12. The Day would provide a spotlight on right of all children to be protected from child labour and from other violations of fundamental human rights.
Giving details of events, Media Co-ordinator of ILO, Zaheer Arif on Friday said these will include a seminar, an exhibition, speech contests and host of other events in different cities of the country. He said seminar entitled - Human Rights and Social Justice, Let's End Child Labour - would be arranged on June 12 at ILO Auditorium, which would be addressed by Representative of Unicef, Dan Rohrmann and Country Director of Unesco in Pakistan, Ms Kay Nagata and other experts.
A speech contest would also be part of the activity where students of different universities would compete and awarded cash prizes and certificates. A video documentary from ILO's project on Child Labour (CACL-ll) would also be shown on the occasion. Child Right Network Pakistan (CRNP) will also manage a performance of street children. An exhibition would also be organised in connection with the Day where best 45 pictures of contestants of photo competition on the fight against child labour in Pakistan would be showcased.
