The Lahore High Court (LHC) directed SSP (investigation) to proceed in accordance with law on an application seeking registration of case against DSP and SHO showing inefficiency that caused death of a lady lawyer Fouzia Bashir. On Tuesday the investigation officer appeared before the court and stated that murder provisions have been inserted in the FIR.
He said an application had also been moved to a court for exhumation of Fouzia's dead body; however, her legal heirs had not approached the court so far. Chaudhry Zulifqar, president Lahore Bar Association, has pleaded that injured Fouzia went to police station for lodging of FIR but police used delaying tactics which caused excessive bleeding that led to death of lawyer. He pointed out that police has failed to arrest killer of Fouzia and requested the court to order for registration of case against DSP and SHO concerned. The court disposed of the petition and directed SSP (investigation) accordingly.
