Sharjeel Inam Memon took oath as Sindh Minister for Information here on Wednesday, while his predecessor Shazia Marri would continue as minister for Power. Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan administered the oath to Sharjeel Memon during a ceremony held at Governor's House. Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, provincial ministers, Chief Secretary and others attended the ceremony.
Memon has been information minister in the past as well. He was removed as information minister when he travelled along with Dr Zulifqar Ali Mirza (former home minister) to London. Sources said that the PPP high ups were not satisfy with the recent performance of Shazia Marri as minister for information and they wanted to replace her with a more competent person.
In the meantime, Sharjeel started lobbying and he also met President Asif Ali Zardari and again offered apology over the matter that caused his ouster as minister, sources close to Memon told Business Recorder. On the other hand, sources said, Sassui Palijo would be given Culture portfolio, which he was holding before being removed for protesting during Sindh cabinet's meeting while works and services portfolio would be given to Manzoor Wasan, former home minister.
