Chief Secretary Sindh, Raja Muhammad Abbas, has asked the Secretary Works and Services department to ensure liaison with the divisional commissioners while working on repair, renovation and construction of roads and culverts etc. He issued these instructions while presiding a meeting to review the pre-cautionary measures for monsoon-2012, here on Thursday.
Raja Abbas also emphasised upon strengthening co-ordination with Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) by the departments of revenue, irrigation, agriculture and works and services to furnish the progress of the machinery and equipment and ensure their availability in emergency in consultation with PDMA. Secretary Rehabilitation briefed that concerned staff of various districts are trained enabling them to combat rain and flood. Meeting reviewed the dewatering plan of major towns/ cities of Sindh, progress on LBOD (Left Bank Outfall Drain), allotment of funds for relief/rescue operations, Rain canal, and Nara water supply scheme.
