The physical remand of three accused in the Fort Munroe gang-rape case was extended on Friday till June 19 for further interrogation, court officials said. The accused Muhammad Zafar, Amjad Ali and Naveed Ahmed were produced before the Civil Judge/Magistrate of Dera Ghazi Khan, Jahanzeb Aman Hafeez.
The Commandant of the Border Military Police (BMP) Tariq Ali Basra said that the court had remanded the accused to police custody.
However, the gang-rape victims could not record their statements before the court and a petition expressing distrust on the judicial inquiry officer also could not be heard because of a lawyers' strike.
DCO of Dera Ghazi Khan Iftikhar Sahu said that the DNA report was expected on Monday (June 18)which would set the direction of the case, because the accused are denying the charges since the very first day.
