Sialkoties are confronting with multiple problems due unscheduled outage of electricity for 18 to 20 hours resultantly the industrial sector, people, as well as patients are facing serious hardships in other words every sector of life had been crippled adversely.
It's an attempt to jeopardising the unique export culture of Sialkot and if the timely action is not taken in addressing the issue of load shedding there will be a cyclone of unemployment and severe blow to national economy.
A large number of operations in government and private hospitals were put off due to non availability of electricity in the export-oriented city and hub of cottage industry of the country.
The daily chore of a common man had crippled adversely in the absence of electricity and gas resultantly the miseries of the people increased to many folds during severe cold weather in this huge foreign earning city. The exporters and manufactures told that in time completion of foreign orders was not possible due long load shedding of electricity and gas.
Expressing their fears they said that if the ongoing situation remained the same than Pakistan will not only lose its creditability in international market but will face serious economic problems. The load shedding is sharply generating economic constrains for the industrial workers especially the daily wagers as well as for the business community of the area besides creating crimes they said.
It seems that the international buyers are reluctant in giving new orders to Pakistani businessmen and consequently they are considering diverting their business channels to other countries for obtaining timely shipments of orders. After hectic efforts exporters of Sialkot had managed to restore the confidence of foreign buyers and succeed in obtaining orders they asserted.
Under these circumstances the personal efforts of exporters and manufactures are in vain because government had failed to protect the industrial sector of Sialkot. Sialkot is the only export-oriented city of the country and possesses entirely different export culture from other industrial cities of the country. The government should take a bold step for exempting the industrial towns from load shedding to ensure smooth productivity and to avoid huge unemployment threats.
