The Karachi Port handled 92,104 tonnes of cargo including 54,986 tonnes of import, 37,118 tonnes of export cargo and 4,314 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during the last 24 hours of business activities ended at 0700 hours on Friday.
A total number of 2,534 loaded containers including 1,470 loaded 20' containers and 1,064 loaded 40' containers are handled during the reported period. While there are 495 total unloaded containers including 274 unloaded 20' containers and 221 unloaded 40' containers are handled during business hours on Friday.
The total 54,986 tonnes of import cargo comprised of 33,101 tonnes of total containerised cargo; 901 tonnes of b bulk cargo; 6,584 tonnes of steel scrap and 14,400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 37,118 tonnes comprised of 28,379 tonnes of total containerised cargo; 70 tonnes of b bulk cargo; 1,302 tonnes of cement cargo; 1,330 tonnes of loose bulk cement cargo and 6,037 tonnes of talcum powder.
A total number of five cargo vessels namely Tabernacle Prince, APL Brisbane, Water Breeze, Pearl Arrow-I and Pearl Arrow-II are sail out to the sea during the business activity hours on Friday.
There are a total number of five cargo vessels namely Jolly, Tabea, Ocean Lady, Bredger Shahaan and ONYX Arrow are currently occupying the berth to load/offload containerised cargo, oil tankers, Bredger and car carriers respectively during the reported period of business on Friday.
There are four cargo vessels namely Tabea, Cielo Di Londra, IVS Kinglet and ONYX Arrow carrying containerised cargo, base oil, scrap cargo and car carriers are expected to sail out to the sea on Friday evening.
There are four cargo vessels namely Loderstar Genesis, OOCL Dusan, UASC Ajman and APL Guanzhou carrying chemical cargo and containerised cargo respectively are expected to arrive on Friday evening, while a total number of five cargo vessels namely Asian Trader, Wan Hai 601, Splendour, JAG Ravi and Nadeen carrying containerised cargo, coke of coal, coal cargo and cement cargo respectively are expected to arrive during the business activity hours on Saturday.
The total import cargo volume of 96,330 tonnes comprised of 10,776 tonnes of containerised cargo; 10,000 tonnes of palm oil; 1,200 tonnes of meg cargo; 52,949 tonnes of furnace oil; 9,332 tonnes of iron ore; 3,719 tonnes of chemical cargo; 4,184 tonnes of fertiliser and 4,170 tonnes of wheat cargo are handled during the business activity hours of the port on Friday.
The total export cargo volume of 22,673 tonnes comprised of 519 tonnes of cement cargo and 22,154 tonnes of containerised cargo are handled during the reported period of activities on Friday.
There is only one cargo vessel namely CV CMA CGM Puccini carrying containerised cargo is sailed out to the sea on Thursday afternoon. While there are four more cargo vessels namely M V Hammonia Husum, M V NYK Kai, M T Gennaro and M V Liberty Sun are sailed out to the sea during the business activity hours on Friday morning.
There are total number of eleven cargo vessels namely M T Harsanadi, M V Leopard-B, M V Hammonia Husum, M V NYK Kai, M T Dobrush, M T Pioneer, M T Gennaro Levoli, M T Fuji Galaxy, C V CMA CGM Puccini, M V Liberty Sun, and M V POA Vosa Wisdom-II are currently occupying the berths to load/offload cement cargo, containerised cargo, palm oil tankers, iron ore, furnace oil tankers, MEG cargo, chemical cargo, fertiliser and wheat cargo respectively during the last 24 hours of business activities at the port on Friday.
There are a total number of four cargo vessels namely M T Chem Hyandra, M T Sunrise Wisteria, M V ETA Gas and M V Sea Marine Ngami carrying palm oil tankers, paraxylene chemical cargo, VCM chemical cargo and containerised cargo respectively are hanging out at the outer anchorage of the port on Friday.
A total number of three cargo vessels namely M T Sunrise Wisteria, M V Sea Marine Ngami and M T Chem Hyandra carrying paraxylene chemical cargo, containerised cargo and palm oil tankers respectively are scheduled to take berths at Engro Vopak Terminal, Qasim International Containers Terminal and Liquid Container terminal on Friday evening.
