The Lahore High Court Chief Justice on Tuesday sought a reply from Punjab government about denial of ownership rights of around 100 members of blind families living in a Kachi Abadi of Masti Gate. The petitioners have approached the court against their possible eviction by the government and sought ownership rights of the property measuring one kanal and 15 marlas.
A provincial law officer informed the court on Tuesday that the government had no plan to dispossess the petitioners. The chief justice adjourned further hearing for a date to be fixed by office after summer vacation in the high court and directed the government to file its reply about denial of ownership rights to the petitioners.
