People from different walk of life while welcoming the disqualification of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani by the Supreme Court (SC) have said the country needs honest and dedicated rulers with the ability to bring the country out of the prevailing quagmire.
People from different walks of life while talking to Business Recorder here on Tuesday hailed the SC decision and maintained that it was the right decision. The majority of the people stated that the present government has deprived them of the basic needs of life. Mohammed Ejaz, a taxi driver, said that during the last four years prices of all daily use items have increased manifold.
In 2008 one litre pack of milk was available at Rs 55, which is now being sold at Rs 90 and lose milk was available at Rs 40 per kg in 2008, which at present has touch Rs 80 per kg he lamented mark. Most of the people from different walks of life including traders, shopkeepers, mechanics, labourers, government employees as well as private sector, termed the SC decision historic and hoped that the next Prime Minister would be more sensitive to the needs of the common man.
They said SC is the only hope of the people of this country to deliver justice as the government has totally failed to protect their rights. Qamar, a trader in the Melody Market, told Business Recorder that the incumbent government had disappointed the masses. It failed to provide jobs and other basic facilities including health and education while corruption is at its peak.
