Acting vice chancellor SU condoles death of Professor Afaq

The acting Vice-Chancellor of University of Sindh Dr Parveen Shah expressed deep sorrow on the sad demise of Professor Afaq Siddiqui, a noted writer and translator of verses of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai. In a condolence statement on Wednesday Dr Parveen Shah has lauded literary and poetic contribution of Professor Afaq Siddiqui and also his services in Urdu and Sindhi literatures.
She said that sincere efforts made by Professor Afaq Siddiqui in bringing the Sindhi and Urdu languages closer to each other through his literary contribution and historic work towards translations of poetry of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai would always be remembered. Dr Parveen also expressed grief on the sad demise of late Fouzia Wahab, an active leader of Pakistan People's Party, and lauded her efforts for welfare of women.
