Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti here on Saturday announced the construction of protection walls on both side of Kalpani Nullah in Mardan, saying the project will cost an amount of Rs 160 million and work in this connection will start within a period of two months.
He was presiding a meeting of the elites of Mardan on the occasion of the foundation stone laying ceremony of sports ground named after Khudai Khidmatgar, Sher Dad Baba Mandori in Mardan. The public meeting was also addressed by district general secretary ANP, Mardan, Imran Mandori while provincial president AMP, Engineer Abbas, district senior vice president, Javed Mohammad khel, former tehsil nazim, Ihsan Bacha, Mohammad Iqbal Khan Hoti, Javed Yusufzai, Haji Attaullah and senior officials of district and police authorities were also present on the occasion.
The chief minister said that processing for the acquisition of land for graveyards in Hoti (Mardan) is in progress and for this purpose a 20 kanal land has been acquired in Misriabad and its boundary walls will be constructed soon. He said that the scheme will cost an amount of Rs 20 million.
Another piece of 12 kanal lands is being purchased in Gulibagh while 40 kanal lands has been acquired for the extension of Sangar Baba Graveyard. Work on the drainage system on both sides of roads in Hoti is in full swing. Hoti said that besides this provision of lands for graveyards, the construction and repair work of mosques is also in progress.
However, he urged the local elites to carry such strictly on need basis. He said that the service of humanity is best worship and whoever had found this opportunity should utilise it.
He continued that services should remain above of politics, saying on the basis of these principles of elders; he had left no stone unturned in the service of the people. He promised that this service will remain continue in future too. He was of the view that in past Mardan was always deprived of its due right, saying despite being second largest city of the province its status was not more than a town or rural area.
He said that as a son of Mardan, he granted due right to Mardan, but it was not given at the cost of any other city or district. Mardan, he said is his ancestral area and work on several schemes at the provision of basic facilities is in progress. These schemes, he added includes project like Sher Dad Baba Mandori play ground, which will be completed at the cost of Rs 80 million.
