Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain has urged all political parties of country to wait for next general elections, which are due after next few months, for the sake of democracy and stability in the country.
Addressing the public meeting of Pushto and Hindko speaking people at Jinnah Ground, Azizabad, here on Sunday, he said that interest of the country was in the continuation of democracy.
Hussain appealed to the federal government and the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to create employment opportunities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by setting up industries, adding that KP people should be provided basic health and education facilities.
MQM chief said the conspiracies against democracy must end now, otherwise integrity of the country would be harmed. Half of the country had already been lost, and the remaining must be secured by allowing democracy to continue, he added.
MQM chief said that the message of the meeting was nothing but love among the oppressed and downtrodden people of Pakistan, who have been deprived even of their basic rights.
He asked the Urdu-speaking, Pakhtuns, Hazarwal and other communities to resolve that they would give blood for protecting each other, but they would never taint hands with the blood of each other.
He said the Pakhtuns had come to Karachi because of lack of employment opportunities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Had there been enough resources to earn a decent livelihood, they would have never come to Karachi and other cities of Sindh in search of employment and business opportunities.
MQM chief appealed to Sindh Governor, Chief Minister, MQM Senators, MNAs and MPAs to solve the problems of the Pakhtuns and Hazarwal people on urgent basic.
He further demanded of the government to solve load shedding issue on war footing basis.
He said all state institutions must act within their constitutional framework and must desist from overstepping their respective domains. Hussain said 'Super Power' is eyeing on Pakistan adding its fleet have already been entered in the country. He added the time called for unity and solidarity instead of divisions.
"Instead of fighting with each other, we should show tolerance towards each others and display unity and solidarity for the security of the country," he added.
He said that the Pakhtuns should go to the Urdu-speaking areas freely and likewise, the Urdu-speaking people should be able to go to the Paskhtun dominated areas without any sense of fear.
Earlier, addressing the meeting Deputy Convenor of MQM Co-ordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar said that the public meeting would prove to be an important landmark for bringing peace and harmony in city.
