Ajaz Ali Khan joined the Civil Service of Pakistan (District Management Group) after passing the competitive superior services (CSS) exam in the year 1984. He has served in various capacities from sub-division and district level assignments where policy execution takes place to policy level positions.
His varied experience includes assignments as Deputy Secretary & Deputy Commissioner, Director General for Road Sector Development Program, Member Board of Revenue. He has dealt with foreign funded programs of Asian Development Bank and World Bank. He has the unique distinction of being the first Executive District Education Officer for primary education for Karachi from his cadre of service.
He has served as Secretary to Government of Sindh, Services Wing of SGA&CD, Food Department, Mines & Minerals Development Department, Coal & Energy Development Department and Managing Director, Thar Coal and Energy Board, where his efforts were concentrated on development of coal resources of Sindh, particularly the Thar Coal which being one of the largest coal deposits of the world, can guarantee energy security for the country.
Presently he is serving as Secretary to Government of Sindh, Agriculture Department where his focus of activity is to enhance overall productivity and make this department vibrant and responsive to the needs of growers.
