Four people, including a former union council Nazim and head of Amn Lashkar local peace committee, Mohammad Fahim Khan were shot dead here on Wednesday. The Police had sent all four bullet riddled bodies to Khyber medical college for post mortem. The bodies of Mohammad Fahim, 50, chief of strong vigilante force in Bazidkhel the outskirts of Peshawar, and three of his associates were found in a Toyota Land Cruiser on Ring road, Peshawar city.
According to a senior police official Asif Iqbal they found the bodies around 7:00am, all of them shot at close range. The deceased have survived at least three suicide bombings and several roadside bomb attacks blamed on the Taliban and warlord Mangal Bagh who leads the Lashkar-e-Islam in the adjoining Khyber Agency.
It has a worth to mention here that on June 12, two bodyguards of Fahim were killed in a suicide attack that targeted his vehicle. He survived because he wasn't in the car. Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Barrister Masood Kausar has strongly condemned the brutal killing of Ex-Nazim Fahim who was also heading Amn Lashkar of Adizai a peace body of the people of a suburban locality of Peshawar.
In his condolence message, the Governor while expressing his deep shock and sorrow over the loss of precious lives has described it a highly cowardly act of heinous crime and said that the elements involved would be brought to justice. Expressing his heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved families, the Governor also eulogised the role and services of the deceased towards restoration of law and order in the area. He has also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and courage to them to bear the irreparable loss with patience.
The provincial President ANP, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Senator Afrasiab Khattak and General Secretary, Arbab Mohammad Tahir Khan Khalil have condemned attack on head of Amn Lashkar, ex.nazim, Fahim and expressed deep grief and sorrow over his killing along with associates. According to condemnation statement issued here from central media cell of Bacha Khan Markaz on Wednesday, they said that Pakhtuns have rendered huge sacrifices in the war on terror saying these sacrifices and effective government measures have resulted in the breaking the backbone of terrorists, which have prompted them on carrying such cowardice activities. They paid rich tributes to the martyred and said that the names of those rendering martyrdom for the sake of peace will be written in golden words in history.
