CNG dealers has said that the government policies and decisions regarding CNG industry since several months clearly indicating govt malicious intention towards CNG industry. This was expressed at the news conference jointly held by CNG Dealers Association, All Pakistan CWG Association & CNG Station Owners Association on Thursday.
They said that the recent proposal of two days a week closure of CNG stations in Sindh has created problem and unrest among the CNG stations and its users, adding that as per Constitution Article l58 the places and areas where minerals and oil are produced are given first preference for their use but inspire of this CNG sector has been forced for one day closure by the government in Sindh.
CNG dealers termed the decision of closing CNG stations for two days is quite unfair, unjustified, and against the constitution which clearly exposes the malafide intention and future design on the CNG Policy. They said decision would put devastating impact on the CNG industry. Sindh province produces 70 per cent of the total gas and it has legal Constitution right to use for its own use first time again.
They said that it is extremely unfair that the most powerful lobby is trying to destroy a small and unorganized sector. These lobby with 80 per cent allocation of gas are unable to stop gas wastage of up to 11 per cent in there own sector. "To stop this wastage and to raise government revenue the price of gas charges from these lobbyist paying average Rs 450 per MMBTU to equalise with the price changed from CNG Rs 750 per MMBTU", they added. They requested that government should stick to the recent agreement with the CNG Association and no change whatsoever should be made in the agreed terms.-PR
