The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday served notices on real estate tycoon Malik Riaz, the Chief Executive of Dunya News, Mian Aamir, and two anchorpersons in the context of a talk show footage. The notices were issued during the hearing of a petition by a two-member bench of Justice Ejaz Afzal and Justice Muhammad Athar Saeed. The petition was filed by Liaquat Ali Qureshi, the President of the Lawyers' Writers Forum.
Malik Riaz, the Chairman of Pemra, Dunya News Television through its Chief Executive Mian Aamir and two anchorpersons - Mubashir Luqman and Mehr Bukhari - have been named as respondents. The petitioner urged the court to prosecute all five respondents under the contempt of court law and take appropriate action against them in the interest of justice.
