Provincial autonomy base of Pakistan Resolution, PPP manifesto: Prime Minister
Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that provincial autonomy is the foundation of Pakistan Resolution and Pakistan Peoples Party manifesto as Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the PPP leadership was the follower and harbinger of provincial autonomy.
In his message on the occasion of Provincial Autonomy Day being observed on July 1, the Prime Minister said this Day has special importance in Pakistan's history because the process of giving rights to the provinces, according to the aspirations of the people, was completed on June 30,2011 which heralded a new chapter of provincial autonomy in the country's history.
Prime Minister said that the PPP leadership Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto gave rights to the people and that was the central point of their struggle. He said that indeed provincial autonomy was the essence of democracy and for which the PPP struggle of PPP leadership was unprecedented. "It is our strong belief that until the people are not independent and autonomous in their decisions, the dream of real progress and restoration of people's rights cannot be achieved," the Prime Minister said and added that provincial autonomy was guaranteed to solidarity, integrity and security of the country.
