Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Higher Education, Qazi Mohammad Asad has announced to establish University in Abbottabad soon while Commerce College will be set up under special measures of the government. He said this while addressing a function held in connections with the foundation stone laying ceremony of residential colony in Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Abbottabad.
Others who addressed the function were included Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education, Sardar Hussein Babak, member provincial assembly, Inayatullah Khan Jadoon and chairman BISE, Abbottabad, Professor Abdul Qayyum. Those present on the occasion were included Nawaz Khan Alai, MPA Sajida Tabbasum, Siakdanr Iqbal, chairman BISE, Peshawar, Dr, Mohammad Shafi Afridi and chairmen of BISE, Malakand, Mardan, office bearers of ANP, officials of government departments, office bearers of teachers associations, office bearers of private schools association and elites.
Qazi said that the provincial government has increased the budget of higher education from Rs 3 billion to Rs 5 billion, which was only Rs 1.8 billion in 2008. The provincial minister said that no new college has been allocated in the; province for the annual development programme of 2012-13 and financial resources have been diverted to the completion of the already in progress schemes.
However, he assured that on the demand of the MPA Inayatullah Khan Jadoon, a commerce college in Abbottabad will be established with special co-operation of the chief minister. He dispelled the impression of the ignoring of Hazara Division in development schemes and said that the region had received maximum development schemes, saying statistics in this regard will be highlighted to the people.
